Mona Lee Furst, Ret. U.S. Attorney - January 6th Prosecutor

Mona Lee M. Furst currently serves the city of Wichita as well as the state of Kansas as the Senior Litigation Counsel, Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office.

She joins us to discuss her experience as a prosecuting attorney for some of the January 6th trials.

Outside of those trials, she is the counsel for the prosecution of major drug distribution and Title III wire interceptions investigations involving controlled substances and overdose deaths. She also prosecutes public corruption, civil rights violations, and firearm violations, following the cases from presentation to the grand jury all the way to sentencing.

In 2019 she became the Senior Litigation Counsel in charge of continuing legal education for the District and for training the District and for new attorneys. She is also the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDEFT) attorney for the Wichita Division and the Opioid Crisis Response attorney for the entire District.
