Stem cell therapy is emerging as a revolutionary tool to combat numerous diseases and chronic conditions. Many are unaware of Wichita’s unique role in helping advance this therapy. Blake will explain the history and challenges to bringing this therapy to the masses and current efforts to leverage shifting momentum to ensure that stem cells become part of the standard of care for those with rare diseases and common chronic conditions. Hear their patient-centered strategy, the positive economic impacts this therapy will have, and how stem cells could be a potential solution for yourself or a loved one.
Blake founded Coming Together for a Cure in 2014 after his brother became the first person in the US to receive stem cell therapy, a treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. While leading the nonprofit, they helped nearly 1,000 families on their treatment journey, hosted annual benefit concerts, produced a feature documentary, and are currently helping launch the first stem cell clinical trial for DMD in the US. He is a K-State graduate and lifelong Wichitan who married at Botanica in 2024.
