Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing brain disease, with cases expected to double between 2015 and 2030. Club Parkinson’s is the only local resource in Wichita that takes a wellness-focused, multimodal approach to fighting the disease. As a locally established nonprofit with a unique business model, we collaborate with Wichita State University to expand our impact and provide vital services to those with Parkinson’s and their caregivers.
We’ll share how Club Parkinson’s bridges the gap between diagnosis and living well. Our research-based programs, led by Parkinson’s-certified physical and occupational therapists, focus on improving overall health and well-being. Through education, fitness, resources, support groups, and a strong sense of community, we strive to offer hope and empowerment to individuals with Parkinson’s and their families.
With over 50 years of clinical experience collectively, Shana Gatschet and Connie Urbanek, co-founders of Club Parkinson’s and co-owners of Parkinson’s Connect, form a powerful team dedicated to advocacy for the Parkinson’s community. Club Parkinson’s, nonprofit, offers vital resources focused on fitness, mental health, education, and social wellness for individuals with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. Parkinson’s Connect complements this effort with a unique mobile outpatient therapy clinic that delivers physical, occupational, and speech therapy to patients in their homes and communities
