A Kansas native and third-generation glassworker, Britt Hopper has long appreciated the artistry and craftsmanship of glass—from commercial installations to cathedral work. That appreciation for intricate design eventually led him to another remarkable creation: the honeybee. Since becoming a bee guardian in 2013, he has dedicated himself to promoting and protecting bees across Kansas. Through mentoring, traveling to schools and retirement communities, and helping schools establish their own hives, Britt works to educate others about the importance of bees. When he removes bee colonies, they are often donated to local schools to support hands-on learning and inspire the next generation of bee stewards.
