What would happen if nonprofits could recruit a leader from the private sector and pay her a market-rate salary to get an “impossible” project across the finish line? What could we do if we change the conversation from donors to “shareholders in Wichita’s future?” Could we apply Wichita’s entrepreneurial, venture capital lens to nonprofit support to solve a systemic problem?
Reimagine Giving is a community-wide movement led by the Wichita Foundation to change how we understand and invest in nonprofit work. Through a new storytelling initiative, the Foundation is making the often-unseen impact of giving more visible across Wichita. The campaign will challenge traditional giving by encouraging investment in the systems, people and infrastructure that create systemic change. Launching during the Foundation’s 40th anniversary, Reimagine Giving will spark new conversations and partnerships to shape the future of giving in our community.
