Since the original downtown master plan was created in 2010, our community has invested $2 billion into redeveloping the core of our city. Fifteen years and 100+ completed projects later, downtown’s plan needed an update. Downtown Wichita commissioned the Downtown Wichita Action Plan in 2025 to build upon our center-city renaissance. Developed through 10 months of intensive community engagement, the plan sets forth four goals — and the strategies and actions required to achieve them — to shape our downtown’s continued growth over the next decade.
Rise n’ Rotary: A New Quarterly Option
We know not everyone can make our Monday noon luncheons, so this Rotary year we’ll offer a morning meeting one Wednesday each quarter at Exploration Place. Same time each morning, fresh format, and a new speaker every quarter. It’s a fresh way to stay connected, serve up some inspiration, and enjoy Rotary with your morning coffee.

Heather Schroeder is the Executive Director of Downtown Wichita, where she leads strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the economic vitality, cultural richness and overall quality of life of downtown Wichita. Over the past year, Heather has managed the planning process for the Downtown Wichita Action Plan. The final plan serves as a community-led roadmap for how to continue revitalizing the city’s core over the next 10 years.
