Superintendent Kelly Bielefeld will be highlighting the unique and varied opportunities of the school district, highlighting Future Ready Centers and more along with touching base on the district’s magnet schools and district transportation in that area.
Kelly Bielefeld has led Wichita Public Schools as Superintendent since July 1, 2023, guiding the largest district in Kansas with more than 47,000 students and 85 schools. With a strong background in educational leadership, he previously served as the district’s Executive Director of College and Career Readiness, as well as an assistant superintendent and principal in nearby districts. Under his leadership, WPS has seen meaningful growth, including a rise in graduation rates, stronger English Language Arts scores, and expanded opportunities through Future Ready Centers and dual credit programs. Actively engaged at both the state and local levels, Superintendent Bielefeld is committed to ensuring that Wichita students are prepared for success in college, careers, and life.
