Paul Mills was named Wichita State’s 27th head men’s basketball coach in March 2023. In just two seasons, he has guided the Shockers to 34 wins—third most by any WSU coach in their first two years—and a postseason berth in the 2025 NIT. Under his leadership, the team posted its best non-conference record since 2019 and earned a signature Top-25 win over Memphis.
Before arriving in Wichita, Mills spent six years as head coach at Oral Roberts, where he led the Golden Eagles to two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a historic 2021 Sweet 16 run as a No. 15 seed. A former Baylor assistant under Scott Drew, Mills is known for building competitive, resilient teams and navigating the challenges of the modern transfer era with success.
